Madonnas, Muses & the Anima

This may seem like an odd grouping of still life , the female form and interiors, but the binding element is the feminine, the anima, the subtle but profoundly alluring force that creates and nourishes and is said in many ancient traditions, to destroy. My foray into figurative painting began in 2013 with my muse, my youngest step-daughter Olivia (depicted recently from above) - a truly beautiful young woman, who exudes mystery and a quiet intensity for all that is true, and who has taught me more about myself than anyone.
